If you haul freight in the U.S., you need an ELD that just works, and someone who picks up the phone when it doesn’t. Our ELD services cover the whole thing: FMCSA-compliant electronic logging devices, hours-of-service logs, GPS tracking, and IFTA support, all from one team. Run one truck or fifty, we’ll get you set up, compliant, and back on the road without the runaround.

What Are ELD Services?
An electronic logging device (ELD) plugs into your truck’s engine and automatically records driving time, engine hours, and location. It replaced the paper logbook, and since December 2019 the FMCSA’s ELD mandate has been fully in force for most carriers.
But the box itself is only half the story. A good ELD service also includes the app your drivers use every day, the dashboard your office relies on, and the support you need when a log won’t sync at 2 a.m. That’s the part most people don’t think about until it goes wrong, and it’s the part we care about most.
Our Electronic Logging Device Service: What You Get
- FMCSA-compliant ELD hardware. A plug-in vehicle gateway (including Geometris ELD devices) that connects to your truck’s diagnostic port.
- Driver app for hours of service. Duty status changes, drive-time clocks, log edits with annotations, and daily certification, all on a phone or tablet.
- Roadside inspection mode. Show or send logs to an officer in a few taps, so inspections stay short and calm.
- GPS tracking and engine diagnostics. See where every truck is and catch fault codes before they turn into breakdowns.
- Fleet dashboard and analytics. Watch driver hours, spot violations before they happen, and keep clean records for audits.
- IFTA and permit support. We also handle IFTA filing and trucking permits, so your paperwork lives in one place.
- Real support. U.S.-based people who know trucking, not a chatbot loop.
How Our Truck ELD Service Works
1. Tell us about your fleet
Give us a quick call or fill out the form. We’ll ask how many trucks you run, what you haul, and what’s frustrating you about your current setup.
2. We send you the right device and plan
No oversized packages you don’t need. You get the hardware and app plan that fit your trucks and your budget.
3. Plug in and pair
The device plugs into the truck’s diagnostic port and pairs with the driver’s phone or tablet over Bluetooth. Need a hand? We’ll walk you through it.
4. Drive, and call us if you need us
Your drivers log hours automatically. If something looks off, we’re a phone call or email away.
A Trucking ELD Provider Built for Real Fleets
Owner-operators
You don’t have time to babysit software. You need a device that’s simple, legal, and doesn’t cost a fortune. We keep it that way.
Small and mid-size fleets
Managing ten or fifty drivers means you need visibility. Our dashboard shows who’s driving, who’s close to their limits, and what needs attention today.
Flatbed, reefer, and oversize haulers
Specialized loads mean specialized paperwork. Since we also handle oversize and state-specific permits, you’re not juggling three vendors to get one load moving.

ELD Compliance: What Every Driver and Carrier Should Know
The ELD rule sits in 49 CFR Part 395, Subpart B. Driving without a compliant ELD when you need one can get a driver placed out of service and hurt your CSA score, which nobody wants.
Some drivers are exempt: those who use paper logs 8 days or fewer in any 30-day period, drive-away/tow-away operations, vehicles with engines older than model year 2000, and short-haul drivers using the 150 air-mile exception. You can read the details on the FMCSA ELD page. Not sure whether you qualify? Ask us. We’d rather tell you honestly than sell you something you don’t need.

ELD Services FAQ
- What does an ELD service include?A full ELD service includes the plug-in device, the driver app for hours-of-service logs, a fleet dashboard, roadside inspection tools, and support when something goes wrong. At ELD Nexus we also help with GPS tracking, IFTA and permits.
- Do I need an ELD in my truck? Most drivers who must keep records of duty status need an ELD under FMCSA rules. Exceptions include short-haul drivers using the 150 air-mile exemption, drivers who keep logs 8 days or fewer in any 30-day period, drive-away/tow-away operations, and vehicles with engines older than model year 2000.
- How can I check that an ELD is FMCSA-compliant?The FMCSA doesn't approve devices. Providers self-certify and register each model on the FMCSA's official list of registered ELDs. Look up the device and its registration ID on the FMCSA website before you buy.
- How much does an ELD service cost?Cost depends on your fleet size and the plan you pick. Check our pricing page for current plans, or contact us for a quote based on your trucks.
- Can you help with IFTA and permits too?Yes. Along with ELD services, we offer IFTA filing and permit services so you can handle logs, fuel tax and paperwork with one provider.
